an eyeful

  • There are Christian Nudist Convocations. In their July retreat in Tennessee, one member said, "[S]ome people get sent to Africa, some people get sent to South America and the Lord was like, 'I want you to go to nudist resorts.' And I'm like, 'Wow, what an assignment.'" Source.
  • Judge Richard L. Williams ruled that at a nudist camp for youths, each camper must have a parent or guardian present. According to the New York Times, Williams suggested "[a]n eyeful of naked Mom or Dad. . . is a fair price for admission to nudist camp."

Nudist resorts only sound like a good idea until you see the peope who actually *go* to nudist resorts. >Shiver!<

Have you read Naked by David Sedaris? There's a hilarious essay about the author's visit to a nudist camp. They have a carry your own towel rule. Ewwwwww!

baba doodilius: hehehe
rebecca hickman: No I haven't, but thanks for the recommendation. My family and I have had a few accidental encounters with nudists before. They weren't pleasant.

There's a "naturistes" campground on the beach near here, at Argeles-sur-Mer, but they don't have any signs on the beach to tell you when you've walked into the naked zone. It's a big surprise for the unwary . . .

An eyeful of naked Mom and Dad would send me into a monastery...fully clothed. Ew.
