octopus walking

An Indonesian octopus (top picture) wraps 6 legs around its body to disguise itself as a coconut while using its other two legs to run away from danger.

An Australian octopus uses six of its legs to disguise itself as seaweed while using its other two legs to run away from danger. Interestingly, it moves faster like this than when using all its legs.

Why thank you. They seem like creepy ominous music should be playing in the background!

The running seaweed video is definitly the coolest, and it really looks like seaweed. Maybe an octopus is smarter than I thought.

Just think how bizarre it would have been to be the first scientist to see this.
